I create mostly original resources for my art lessons based on my favourite artists. I work in London. As my students are from BAME backgrounds, I like my students to study artists from a range of backgrounds so they can identify with them. I want all voices of my students to be heard. This project is part of an Under The Sea unit. It looks at the work of a black female mixed media artist Ellen Gallagher. Students respond to the artist’s work through drawing, water colour , mixed media and assemble plasticine motifs on top their final piece. I hope you enjoy it. This resource has been downloaded in countries such as France, Belgium and Ireland. Black female lives matter in art education.
